Things are coming together slowly and this being my very first year and first time for pretty much everything, it’s been a journey!
I just want to share some of my experience for those interested in setting up a booth in the future and others that are just curious and would like to know.
- First, you have to contact the show organizers and fill out the sign up sheet. This is when you pick which booth section you would like and pay for it as well.
- Standard booth only comes with a background stand so either you rent a furniture or get your own (I got my own). Also have to pay for electricity!
- Print promo materials (sample album, handout/flyer, business card, banner, photo prints.. etc)
- Organize photo slide show (Will be setting up LCD monitor on my booth and running slide show of my photos)
- Pick up decorative materials (table cloth, fancy background stand.. etc)
- Secure an assistant to help out during the show!!
That generally about covers it.. doesn’t seem like much but the amount of work invovled in creating the atmosphere and body of works that will translates my photography and myself to the clients is much more than one would imagine.
Once the show is over I will be working on the editorial website!

It went down in 2009 and this one was a fun wedding for me. I wasn’t there as a main photographer but as a guest!! Also it was in Toronto so it was good to visit and see some friends while I was there. I know the groom [Heesuk] from back in Carleton and we used to go take photos together, now he is happily married and living in London ON.. Wish them the best and hope to see them soon!
The kiss photo from the reception is probably one of my favorite kiss photos I have taken so far. Really like the strong red dress and the dramatic light coming off the background.

Back in da days..(2008) assisted Montreal based wedding photographer. I was lurking around at groom’s place and met yet another Ottawa wedding video/photographer who happend to be one of the groom’s men.

This should be appropriate for the very first photo blog post for my new wedding photography blog. Their wedding took place in 2008 and I was referred by Chris S. whom I work with at Carleton when I freelance. Although, Chris is also a photographer and does wedding photography, him being one of the grooms men , asked me to take photos for his friend Guy’s wedding.
